Good evening Garson,
I just wanted to send a quick note to say what a lovely cottage you have at Mellow Yellow and what a fantastic time my family and I had this past week.
The accommodations exceeded our expectations...We enjoyed every minute of sunshine we had and still found plenty to do when it rained.
The screened in wraparound porch with a lake view was a pleasant bonus. We dined al-fresco almost every meal.

If I had known, I would not have brought half the supplies I did. The location was great and the scenery was spectacular. Hello Garson, We had a fantastic holiday at your cottage, Thank you so much. Everything was great. We had family from Baltimore, Montreal, and Seattle who were all impressed with your place. We all felt at home as soon as we walked in. We had a great time canoeing, swimming, shopping, nightly fires and even made friends with a chipmunk !
To top it off we could not have picked a better week as it only rained once for about 2 hours. I haven't seen that much sun all summer :)

We all had a wonderful time. Mellow Yellow suited our family to a "t". Such a great place for all ages from 4 to 90! Ryan was pleasant to deal with and we used all the boats a lot - paddleboat, canoe, small and large rental and the swim platform. Chef Dave cooked us a delicious dinner to celebrate Great Grandma's 90th birthday. The weather was quite good thank goodness and we had lots of in and out of the water time. We will gladly recommend Mellow Yellow to all our Ontario friends who need a big place to rent.

Hi Garson, we had a lovely Thanksgiving thank you and the weather was certainly on our side. Mellow Yellow is a great cottage and so picturesque , nestled in the trees, on the lake. We also enjoyed the use of the canoe and the paddle boat. It is well equipped to handle a large crowd.

It was AMAZING!! Sorry, I meant to email you last week and let you know what a great time we had.

The boys were happy as the fishing was good (a number of bass caught and the "spot" was almost in front of the cottage) and the girls had a great time gabbing on the dock and the comfy couches!!

We're hoping to make this an annual event as we had such a great time. Thanks again and we'll talk soon.

Hi, Garson.

That’s a very nice place you have there. We liked the cottage very much and thought it was lovely. I especially liked the kitchen. Really cute.

The weather wasn’t great but we bopped around and kept busy. I don’t think anybody swam (too cold out for us city folks) but we canoed, golfed, watched DVDs, read, walked into town, drove into town, went out for dinner, stayed in for dinner, all the usual things.

My dear Garson:

I just wanted to thank you so much for the use of Mellow Yellow. What a perfect spot! and we so enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home. We tried hard to leave it in the same pristine condition as it was upon our arrival. The cottage proved to be quite ideal for our large group and the Great Room was a perfect place for all that special family time. Dave the Chef did an outstanding job and it was a real treat to be able to ignore all the kitchen workings without having to actually leave the house. We have such happy memories of our 40th anniversary!

Thank you Garson, and I hope that you will allow us to perhaps, rent Mellow Yellow again sometime and maybe the Mexican apartment too - a week in the middle of winter sounds very inviting. We will be in touch presently.

Just wanted to inform you that we had a fantastic week at “Mellow Yellow”, we are wondering if we could look at booking a week next summer? You have a beautiful spot and our family had a great time boating, jet skiing, sitting around the camp fire, golfing etc. We where pleasantly surprised at the amount of room we had at the cottage for our large family, it was great! HI Garson,

Just wanted to let you know that we had a fabulous weekend at Mellow Yellow. The cottage and lake are amazing. Way outdid our expectations!

We really liked how there were spots to lounge every where we turned (so many couches, Muskoka chairs, breakfast bar, dining room table, picnic table etc etc). The kitchen was great! Love the new fridge and retro motif. The stove took some time to figure out but it was all clear when we re-read the instruction email.

The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of pots/pans/utensils.

Beds were SO comfy! Everything was great!

Hey Garson,

Everything was great last week!! Thanks for asking. You place was perfect for our gang, we spent a lot of time of the jet-ski. I managed to try the new golf course Muskoka Bay that just opened near by. It's very very nice.

The kids had a great time.

The extra fridge in the shed was very handy. We built an Anookshook on those rocks in the lake, maybe it will still be there when you go up!

Hi Garson!

We had a fantastic time at Mellow Yellow. When we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the space… then we discovered the “second wing” where the tv and king loft were. It was great for the young kids to have room to move around indoors while we prepared ourselves for a day outdoors. The table on the screened in porch was a popular area for the kids to do their arts and crafts. It was also easy for me to find a quiet place to read with my 5 year old; according to him, he needed a place “to focus” so he could do his workbook and read to me and the porch was his solution.

Our family and Mellow Yellow survived the tornadoes and we barely noticed the loss of power for just over 24 hours. We used the bbq, fire pit and hung out in the water all day. Marilyn came by and got us some ice to help us keep our food cold in the coolers while the power was out. The beds were very comfortable. Our days and nights were fun and comfortable; all around enjoyable 24/7.

Dave and Dawn (The Chef) were awesome: very accommodating, professional and delicious chef service. It was an evening of decadence for the adults while the kids relaxed with some board games and a movie.

We did catch some fish as well. It was mostly rock bass, or “stone fish” as the kids called them.

So overall we were very impressed with the space and cleanliness of the cottage, the plethora of kitchen tools, the chef service and the support of Marilyn whenever we needed her and even when we were not expecting her. We felt very looked after. That was very nice to feel so looked after as I had to do some special tending to my kids. All three of my kids were sick through the course of the week (Telehealth even summoned an ambulance for my 2 year old on Sunday night) and the other two spiked fevers over 104 but I have to say it was a great place for them to be sick as we were all so comfortable and happy and the kids loved to be outside even when they were ill. They recovered quickly. Putting their feet in the water helped with their fevers. So despite the illness, the tornados, the power outage, it was an outrageously fabulous week – seriously. We’d happily vacation at Mellow Yellow again.

I wanted to pass on our absolute thanks for the renting of Mellow Yellow cottage. It was very large and tastefully furnished. It accommodated our two families extremely well. The dock area to Gull Lake was terrific and the children loved using the pedal boat and canoe. We canoed to Lily Bay on the advice of your neighbour and saw beavers, turtles, birds, and of course, lily pads. In fact, an actual deer walked right by out front door one morning. I assure you the long harvest table, screened in porch and BBQ came into great use. Our family visiting from Europe says the cottage time was the best part of their visit to Canada.

I can wholeheartedly refer this cottage to anyone who wants to experience a perfect Muskoka vacation. Many thanks.

We got to know your neighbours George and Pat. Very nice people. We brought up our own boat this year, and we are certainly rookies when it comes to boating. George was very helpful and so was Ryan.

Hi Garson,

The cottage is beautiful! We truly had a great time despite the cold long weekend. We were able to get out on the canoe, have a couple of bonfires and enjoy the fresh air. Our son loved catching the Rock Bass.

Your cottage has lots of space, and perfect for families.

I just wanted to mention a couple of things that may be of value to other cottagers staying at your place.
* Gull Lake is approx. 22-24ft deep but shallow gradual entry.
* If you have cottagers that are towing a boat, I would suggest they launch the boat first, then head to the cottage.
The lane is a little tight for turns, but we managed.

When we were leaving the key slipped off the lock box (even after I read the directions you sent!) and fell through the porch steps. Hi Garson, Our three families had a fantastic time enjoying "Mellow Yellow". The cottage has been beautifully renovated with perfect attention to detail. You can see the effort that has gone into providing a wonderful vacation spot for a large family group. We all felt very comfortable the moment we set foot inside. There was more than enough room for all 11 of us, and everything we needed was at arms reach.

What more can you ask for in a vacation cottage?

Having "Taboo" (the best golf course I have ever played) just down the road, put my trip way over the top!!

Hi Garson,

Just want to let you know we had a wonderful week at your cottage. We found it very comfortable. My husband loved the layout and the decorating. We had many great meals and laughs around your beautiful harvest table. You should be very proud of Yellow Mellow. We had a great time tubing and the boat was fine for what we used it for. Jim and the kids took the boat fishing a couple of times. One night they came home with six fish which we had for dinner. Nothing like fresh fish.

We would love the rent Mellow Yellow again next year. We all will be looking so forward to it. Thank you again.
